The mammography service will now be available from Dhulikhel Hospital. Earlier, people had to go to Bhaktapur and Kathmandu as there was no mammogram machine in Dhulikhel. Now, the service will be available from Dhulikhel Hospital, said the chief doctor, Dr.Suman Raj Tamrakar.
Due to lack of public awareness, poverty and lack of education about breast cancer, the disease is only diagnosed late in Nepal. Dr. Tamrakar of the hospital said that every woman needs to know about the disease and get tested for it as the disease may spread to other parts of the body. "Abnormal, uncontrolled, and unnecessary growth of breast cells, as in other parts of the body, is called lumps, lumps, and incurable lesions," she said. Women who start menstruating at an early age and have a late menstrual period, who smoke more and drink more alcohol, and who consume more fatty foods have a higher risk of breast cancer. ”
He said that a special type of mammography called X-ray of the breast can detect the early stage of breast cancer and it is necessary to get regular breast test for timely treatment.
Dr. Sunila Shakya of the hospital said that the service is necessary as there is no method to detect the pre-existing condition of breast cancer and the right treatment can be given in time by conducting regular tests. She suggested that if any change is seen in the breast, it should be tested and treated in time.
