The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Tuesday confirmed the detection of 232 new cases of coronavirus infection. With this, the COVID count has reached 997,122. Additionally, 114 people have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the antigen test.
Likewise, the MoHP has recorded 0 deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The ministry on May 19 recorded 184 deaths, the highest daily number. As of Monday, the nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 12,000. Presently, there are 3235 active cases in Nepal.
Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu valley alone have recorded 68 cases in the past 24 hours. Kathmandu logged 53 cases, Lalitpur logged 8 cases and Bhaktapur logged 7 cases, as per the data released by the MoHP.
As many as 232 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Monday, a total of 981,976 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. Presently, the recovery rate stands at 98.5 percent while the fatality rate is 1.2 percent.
As of Monday, a total of 5,887,718 people have undergone the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test.
