A pregnant woman has been rescued by a helicopter from Tamku, Silichong village municipality-3 of Sankhuwasabha district.
Melina Rai, 18, of Kolwaki in Silichong-3 was rescued by a Nepal Army helicopter, said Lal Dhwaj Subedi, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office. Rai was rescued under the Presidential Women's Upliftment Program.
She was admitted to Tamku Primary Health Center at 10 pm on Wednesday. Rai, who was suffering from high blood pressure, was airlifted to Kathmandu on Thursday after she could not be treated there, said Dipendra Kulung, Health Coordinator of Silichong village.
