Siraha District Hospital suspends all services

Decision taken after a patient tested COVID positive

All the services, except the emergency ones, have been suspended in Siraha district hospital after a patient tested positive for coronavirus. A woman patient who was receiving treatment at the hospital from Sunday tested positive for the virus. As per the Health Office, Siraha, the PCR test resulted positive on Monday, 19 April 2021.

With this included, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), reported 1,227 new cases of coronavirus infections on Monday.

Hospital's Medical Superintendent Dr Nagendra Prasad Yadav confirmed that only the emergency service is open after sealing the hospital off as some health workers and doctors are brought under contact tracing after the case.

All wards of the hospitals have been sealed off except the emergency ward. Dr Yadav said that the hospital would resume its service after its wards are disinfected.

Siraha has currently eight active cases out of 7,254 cases in the country, the Health official reported. COVID-19 cases were down to null in the district earlier this February.
