Banke sees an increase on violence against women

Incidents of domestic violence have increased in Banke district in the fiscal year 2077/78 BS. According to Rama Shirish, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Children, Women and Senior Citizens Center Women's Cell, a total of 662 cases have been registered and 59 of them are fighting for justice in court. The women's cell is currently investigating 191 incidents.
The highest number of cases of domestic violence till now has been registered in August, 2077 BS. In August alone, 82 complaints were registered. The lowest number of complaints was registered last April. As only 32 complaints were registered.
Currently, it is reported that violence against women is happening day by day under various pretexts. According to the Women's Cell, out of the complaints registered in the district so far in the fiscal year 2077/78 BS, 388 cases have been settled.
