KATHMANDU: A man on the run since being involved in a case of human trafficking has been arrested from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), based on a red corner notice issued by INTERPOL.
Nepal Police Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki shared that Nirajan Nepali, a resident of Aathbiskot Municipality-5 in Rukum Paschim was arrested in the UAE and brought back to Nepal today for necessary action in the related case.
Similarly, the police have arrested two people on the charge of human trafficking. Those arrested are 26-year-old Dharma Tamang and 39-year-old Tikaram Tamang of Jugal Rural Municipality-6 in Sindhupalchok.
Based on the complaint of the victim, the police deployed from Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau Babarmahal arrested Dharma from Masryangdi Rural Municipality in Lamjung and Tikaram from Pokhara in Kaski.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that they lured the victim to work as a domestic worker in Kuwait on a 'free visa free ticket' but instead took them to Dubai and from there to Aljara in Kuwait and sold her for 900 KD.
