Rasuwa citizens vigilant after heavy snow

The snowfall along with last night's rain has affected people's lives in Rasuwa. The District Disaster Management Committee has urged the locals not to go out of their houses except for urgent work after heavy snowfall in Northern Rasuwa made life difficult for the people.

According to the locals, Langtang, Briddhim, Chandanbari, Khaidi, Thuman, Nakathali, Chilime, Goljung, Gatlang, Haku, Gray, Nessing, Ramche, Yarsa, Singbandi, and Langbu areas have been affected by the snowfall. Similarly, snowfall is also reported in one and a half dozen villages including Lokil, Dhunche, Thade, Thulosyaphru, and Brabal.

Assistant Chief District Officer Durga Thapa said that they have requested to keep the elderly and children warm, to provide them with nutritious warm liquids, and to open the windows in the rooms when using heaters or firewood inside the house.

After the snow fell at an altitude of more than 1,700 meters above sea level, there has been a crisis in the diet of quadrupeds including sheep and goats. Residents of the snow-affected areas have been requested to immediately inform the district administration or district police office in case of any problem due to the snowfall, said Thapa. The District Disaster Management Committee has requested all to give priority to the task of giving immediate information at the district level as rescue workers are ready for deployment any disaster management.
