Several arrested with drugs including 86kg marijuana

An international pharmaceutical company has agreed to plead guilty in a US court and pay $50 million for deleting and hiding manufacturing records in India.


Pawan Kumar Das, 27, of Motihari village, Bihar, India was arrested with 1,006 ampoules of controlled drug Diazepam, 100 ampoules of Nurfin and 100 ampoules of Fenargan from Nagdhunga, Chandragiri Municipality-2, Kathmandu. Mukesh Sah, 24, of Saptari has been arrested by the police on Friday morning as well. Both were caught while coming to Kthmandu from Saptari and Rajbiraj. According to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police, further investigation is underway with the permission of the District Court, Kathmandu.


Asim Gurung, 32, of Jhapa Gauradaha Municipality-1, has been arrested along with 39 tablets of Nitrovet and 22 tablets of Spasmo Proxivan on Friday afternoon from Siraha Municipality-7. Police also recovered one fake identity card of a police inspector, one fake pistol, one holster, and two copper chest plates from his bag.


Police have seized 86 kg and 365 grams of marijuana from Bardibas Municipality-3 in Mahottari on Friday night. A Bolero vehicle (Ba 18 Cha 3955) heading towards Bardibas from Sindhuli was searched during patrol by a joint team from Area Police Office, Bardibas, and Drug Control Bureau Branch Office, Birgunj, Parsa, where they found the hidden illegal substance. Police have taken the driver of the vehicle in custody for necessary investigation.


Police have arrested Durga Sharma, 25, of Madhuwan Municipality-4, Bardiya with 12 grams of Brown sugar on Friday night. Police deployed from the District Police Office, Banke, arrested him.


Maya Khatri, 29, of Bakaya-4, Bastipur, Hetauda Sub-Metropolis-19, Makwanpur, was arrested on Friday night with 250 ampoules of Nurfin, 268 ampoules of Fenargan and 280 ampoules of Diazepam. Police from the District Police Office, Makwanpur searched her room and arrested her on the basis of information that drugs were hidden in his room.


Police have arrested 26-year-old Yusuf Khan and 17-year-old Kishor of Madhuwan Municipality-9 in Bardiya on Saturday morning in possession of 120mg of Brown sugar. On the basis of a special information, the police from Sanoshri Area Police Office searched and found the drug package in the house of the teenager and arrested the two.

Police are conducting further investigation in these cases.
