Two killed in road mishap
Lumbini, Dec 2: Two persons died on the spot in a road accident at Lumbini of Rupandehi this morning.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Irsad, 21, and Rubina Khatun, 16, of Lumbini Saskritik municipality-4, said Spokesperson at the District Police office, Rupandehi, Manohar Bhatta.
The accident took place when a school bus (Lu 1 Ka 1778) of Siddhartha Pratibha Boarding School, Suryapura, hit a motorcycle (Lu 37 Pa 8482) they were travelling at Lumbini Kakarahawa road section.
Bhatta shared that Apasara Khatun, 17, was injured in the incident. She is undergoing treatment at Bhairahawa-based Universal Medical College.
Irate locals have torched the school bus after the incident. Search for the school bus driver is underway, said police. The incident took place when the school bus carrying students was heading for a trip.
Two persons were killed on the spot in a road accident along the East-West highway at Lalbandi municipality-6.
The deceased have been identified as Shrawan Kumar Mahato of Gaushala municipality-11 in Mahottari and his nephew Bikram Kumar Mahato, according to Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Sarlahi, Naresh Raj Mahato.
The accident took place when a truck (Madhes State 039001 Kha 815) heading towards Ranigunj from Lalbandi hit a motorcycle (Na 33 Pa 7513) going in the same direction. Shrawan was riding the motorcycle.
Police have arrested the truck driver and impounded both vehicles.
Two persons were killed when a tipper hit a motorcycle near Adarsha Chowk of Bhaktapur district early this morning.
One of the deceased has been identified as Nischal Chauguthi, 19, of Bhaktapur municipality-2, Byasi, while the identify of the other is yet to be disclosed, said Information Officer of the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, Deputy Superintendent of Police Raju Pandey.
The accident took place around 2:00 am when the tipper heading towards Suryabinayak Chowk from Jagati hit the motorcycle that was coming from opposite direction.
Both the injured died while undergoing treatment at Bhaktapur Hospital. Police have arrested the tipper driver Dhan Bahadur Thokar, 35, of Melung rural municipality-3 in Dolakha district.
Two people have died in a motorcycle accident in Rasuwa last night.
The deceased have been identified as Ram Tamang, 40, of Uttargaya Gaonpalika-1 and Pampha Tamang, 43, of Bidur Municipality-10, Nuwakot, said District Police Office Spokesperson Bishnu Pradeep Basyal. According to him, they were killed when a Pulsar motorcycle (Ba 96 Ja 2094) heading towards Khaltebagar from Betrawati met with an accident.
The motorcycle had met with an accident at Khaltebagar in Uttargaya-5 while they were on their way to congratulate the winning ward chairman of Uttargaya Gaonpalika-4. Police said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
Two people have been killed in separate accidents in Tanahu. They were killed in accidents in Vyas Municipality and Shuklagand Municipality.
A pedestrian has died after being hit by a scooter at Bhitri Road in Vyas-7 Shera. The deceased has been identified as Buddhimaya Darai, 70, of the same place, according to the District Police Office.
A scooter (G20 Pa 2143) heading towards Duipiple from Damauli hit a passerby on the way. Darai, who was injured in the collision, died in Pokhara while undergoing treatment. The scooter driver is under police control.
Similarly, a person was killed in a Bolero jeep accident at Shuklagandaki-10 Minamkhani. The deceased has been identified as Suresh Bahadur Gharti, 25, of Bandipur Gaonpalika-4, according to the District Police Office. The Bolero jeep (Ga 2 Cha 8201) overturned in a ditch causing Gharti to die on the spot, according to police.
