The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Tuesday reported 105 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 272,945.
Of the newly infected, 40 are reported to be females and 65 are males.
Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have reported 47 new cases of coronavirus infection — 37 in Kathmandu, six in Lalitpur and four in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours. Of the newly infected in the valley, 19 are females and 28 others are males.
As many as 99 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 269,303 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Tuesday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.7 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
Likewise, the death toll from COVID-19 has remained 2,055 with no death reported from the disease in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 1,587 active cases in Nepal.
Earlier, the MoHP on Monday had reported 122 new cases of coronavirus infection that had taken the COVID-19 tally to 272,840.
More than 109.20 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,512,936 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:01 pm on February 16.
The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
