The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Saturday reported 109 new cases of coronavirus in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 270,854.
Of the newly infected, 43 are females while 66 are males.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have registered 64 cases of coronavirus — 56 in Kathmandu and eight in Lalitpur — in the past 24 hours. No new cases have been detected in Bhaktapur district. Of the newly infected, 24 are reported to be females and 40 are males.
In the past 24 hours, 350 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by MoHP. Altogether, 266,048 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Saturday.
Currently, the country has 2,779 active cases with a 98.2 per cent recovery rate.
Two persons have succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the MoHP shared. With this, the nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 2,027.
A total of 2,067,699 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been conducted in the country as of Saturday.
Likewise, 2,779 people have been reported to be staying in isolation while 109 others are in quarantine facility in the country.
Earlier, the MoHP on Friday had reported 157 new cases of coronavirus that had taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 270,745.
More than 101.9 million people have been reported to be infected by the virus worldwide and at least 2,202,432 have died, a Reuters tally showed.
