The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Wednesday reported 142 new cases of coronavirus in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 271,431.
Of the newly infected, 52 are females while 90 are males.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have registered 55 cases of coronavirus — 44 in Kathmandu and eight in Lalitpur and three in Bhaktapur— in the past 24 hours. Of the newly infected, 25 are reported to be females and 30 are males.
In the past 24 hours, 206 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by MoHP. Altogether, 267,065 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Wednesday.
Currently, the country has 2,335 active cases with a 98.4 per cent recovery rate.
The nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 2,031 with the death of one more person in the last 24 hours, the MoHP shared.
Earlier, the MoHP on Tuesday had reported 171 cases of coronavirus infection taking the country’s COVID-19 tally to 271,289
More than 103.89 million people have been reported to be infected by novel coronavirus while at least 2,251,709 people have died from the respiratory contagion worldwide, a Reuters tally showed.
