The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Thursday reported 171 new cases of coronavirus in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 271,602.
Of the newly infected, 59 are females while 112 are males.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have registered 78 cases of coronavirus — 61 in Kathmandu and 13 in Lalitpur and four in Bhaktapur— in the past 24 hours. Of the newly infected, 27 are reported to be females and 51 are males.
In the past 24 hours, 227 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by MoHP. Altogether, 267,292 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Thursday.
Currently, the country has 2,277 active cases with a 98.4 per cent recovery rate.
The nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 2,033 with the death of two more persons in the last 24 hours, the MoHP shared.
Earlier, the MoHP on Wednesday had reported 142 cases of coronavirus infection taking the country’s COVID-19 tally to 271,431
More than 104.41 million people have been reported to be infected by novel coronavirus while at least 2,267,646 people have died from the respiratory contagion worldwide, a Reuters tally showed.
