213 coronavirus cases reported on Thursday: MoHP

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Thursday reported 213 new cases of coronavirus in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 270,588.

Of the newly infected, 125 are females while 88 are males.

Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have registered 123 cases of coronavirus — 107 in Kathmandu, six in Bhaktapur and 10 in Lalitpur — in the past 24 hours. Of the newly infected, 44 are reported to be females and 79 others male.

In the past 24 hours, 296 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by the MoHP. Altogether, 265,365 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Thursday.

Currently, the country has 3,203 active cases with a 98.1 per cent recovery rate.

Since no fatalities have been reported from the disease in the last 24 hours, the nationwide death toll from the disease has remained at 2,020.

A total of 2,060,860 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been conducted in the country as of Wednesday.

Likewise, 3,203 people have been reported to be staying in isolation while 113 others are in the quarantine facility in the country.

Earlier, the MoHP on Wednesday had reported 283 new cases of coronavirus that had taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 270,375.

More than 100 million people have been reported to be infected by the virus worldwide and at least 2,176,199 have died, a Reuters tally showed.
