JANAKPUR: A decision has been made to accompany the 'tilak' or the ceremonial ritualistic gifts to Ayodhya of India on November 16 under the leadership of the World Hindu Council Nepal, Janakpurdham and with the participation of the civil society.
A meeting chaired by Santosh Sah, the World Hindu Council Dhanusha president, decided to set out for Ayodhya with the 'tilak' from Janakpur in the morning of November 16 and make a night halt at Gadhimai of Bara.
Sah said that the party carrying the 'tilak' will reach Ayodhya on November 17 and the next day hand over a letter from the Janaki Temple along with the 'tilak' to Champat Raya under the leadership of the World Hindu Council General Secretary Rajendra Singh Pankaj.
Like in the past years, the ritualistic collective marriage ceremony will be solemnized this year also at the initiatives of the World Hindu Council. Fifty-one couples will tie the knot during the collective marriage ceremony that is being held for the sixth time.
It is said that publicity would be carried out on the occasion for developing Janakpurdham as the city of religious tourism.
Meanwhile, preparations are afoot for the Bibaha Panchami religious fair taking place in Janakpurdham on December 6. The Madhesh provincial government, Janakpurdham, Sub-Metropolitan City and the Janaki Temple Management Committee are making preparations for the same.
