266 new cases of Coronavirus on Sunday: MoHP

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Sunday reported 266 new cases of coronavirus in the country. With the addition of the new cases, the number has risen to 267,322.

In the past 24 hours, 266 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by the MoHP. Altogether, 2,614,44 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Sunday.

Currently, the country has 3919 active cases.

The ministry also reported the death of 5 persons from the disease in the last 24 hours. With this, the nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 1,959.

A total of 2,012452 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been conducted in the country as of Sunday.

Likewise, a total of 3919 people have been reported to be staying in isolation while 221 others in the quarantine facility.

More than 94.5 million people have been reported to be infected by the virus worldwide and at least 2.02 million have died, a Reuters tally showed.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
