Nepal Police has arrested three people with an undisclosed amount of Rs 69 lakh.
The team of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office Meen Bhavan arrested 45-year-old Madhav Shrestha of Kathmandu Manmaiju, 33-year-old Sunil Kumar Sah of Bara and Dhanusha Janakpur and 33-year-old Ankit Goenka of Teku of Kathmandu with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police Superintendent Krishna Prasad Koirala, the information officer of the office, informed that they were arrested from Ghantaghar area of Kathmandu, who were conducting financial transactions illegally through hundi. The police arrested Sah and Goenka, the employees of Ankit Goenka, who came to pay hundi and money kept hidden in Sanjog Tours and Travels Pvt. Ltd., which was operated by Shrestha by renting shutters at Jame Market Building located at 28 Ghantaghar, Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
The police recovered Rs 9 lakh more from the office of Ani International, which was run by Goenka in Kalanki. Similarly, the police also seized a check worth Rs.15 lakh of Sanima Bank written in the name of Fast Track International Pvt. Information Officer Koirala said that the three arrested persons have been sent to Revenue Investigation Department Harihar Bhavan for necessary investigation and action.
