The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Tuesday reported 348 new cases of coronavirus in the country. With the addition of the new cases, the number has risen to 267,992.

Of the newly infected, 129 are reported to be females and 219 males.

In the past 24 hours, 441 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by the MoHP. Altogether, 262,259 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Tuesday.

Currently, the country has 3,764 active cases with 97.9 per cent recovery rate.

The ministry also reported the death of four persons from the disease in the last 24 hours. With this, the nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 1,969.

A total of 2,021,714 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been conducted in the country as of Tuesday.

Likewise, 3,764 people have been reported to be staying in isolation while 190 others are in the quarantine facility.

More than 95.37 million people have been reported to be infected by the virus worldwide and at least 2,038,681​ have died, a Reuters tally showed.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
