362 coronavirus cases on Saturday: MoHP

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Saturday reported 362 new cases of coronavirus in the country. With the addition of the new cases, the number has risen to 264,521.

Of the infected, 159 are reported to be females and 203 males.

In the past 24 hours, 699 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by the MoHP.

Altogether, 257,928 individuals have recovered from COVID-19.

Currently, the country has 4,681 active cases with 97.5 per cent recovery rate.

The ministry also reported the death of three persons from the disease in the last 24 hours. With this the nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 1,912.

A total of 1,978,847 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been carried out in the country as of Saturday.

Likewise, a total of 4,681 people have been reported to be staying in isolation while 262 others in quarantine facility.

More than 88.70 million people have been reported to be infected by the virus worldwide and 1,911,433​ have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
