427 cases of loan sharking registered in Sarlahi

A total of 427 cases of usury have been filed in the District Administration Office in Sarlahi district.

The victims registered their complaints against the exploiters after the government on August 13 called for grievances against loan sharks with as many as evidences.

According to Chief District Officer (CDO) in Sarlahi district, Thaneshwor Gautam, although complaints were sought till August 21, complaints continue to come in till date. Complaints registered after August 21 is recorded separately, informed CDO Gautam.

The victims of loan sharks recently demonstrated in district headquarters Malangwa as well. Most of the victims have registered complaints against alleged loan sharks Shyam Krishna Shah, Rambabu Raya, Sanjaya Shah Rauniar, Indal Raya, Ramswarup Raya and Ramchandra Raya among others, the District Administration Office, Sarlahi said.

The alleged loan sharks except for Sanjay have been on the run from police while Sanjay has been in police custody where police was advancing investigating into the case against him, said SP Prabin Pokharel.
