A massive thunderstorm has killed 80 sheep, while more than 300 sheep have gone missing in Jumla. The sheep were grazing in Bagazale pastureland, high in the mountains of Jumla district when the lighting struck.

Villagers have been unable to locate the missing sheep due to the remoteness of the area, said the locals. The main source of income for the villagers of Patasari Rural Municipality is their livestock so the lightning strike came to them as a big blow and the sheep were being readied for sale during Dashain Festival in October.

In 2020 alone, Lightning killed more than 500 sheep in Jumla.
