The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Thursday reported 81 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 272,430.
Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu valley has reported 33 new cases of coronavirus infection — 25 in Kathmandu, seven in Lalitpur and one Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours. Of the newly infected, 17 are females and 16 are males.
As many as 111 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 268,660 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Wednesday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.6 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
The death toll from COVID-19 has reached 2,052 with five more deaths reported in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 1,718 active cases in Nepal.
Earlier, the MoHP on Wednesday had reported 134 new cases of coronavirus infection that had taken the COVID-19 tally to 272,349.
More than 107.39 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,353,649 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed.
