After 11 days, Ruby Khan breaks her hunger strike

Rights activist Ruby Khan has broken her hunger strike after an agreement was reached to form a six-member investigation committee led by Home Ministry Joint Secretary, Hiralal Regmi.

 On Tuesday, Khan broke her fast by drinking juice from the hands of former member of the Human Rights Commission Mohana Ansari and Home Ministry spokesperson Phanindra Mani Pokhrel at Maitighar Mandala. Khan, who was leading the movement, had been on a hunger strike for 11 days.

The strike was on behalf of Nankunni Dhobi of Newaji village in Banke was found dead in her own house and Nirmala Kurmi, a single woman from Paraspur village, who went missing.
