A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between The Nepal Mountaineering Association NMA and the Korean Alpine Federation (KAF) to promote Nepal's mountain tourism, conduct regular mountaineering training in Nepal, and support the education of children who've lost their mountaineer parents.
During a recent visit to Korea, NMA's President, Nima Nuru Sherpa, and Treasurer, Mukti Pandey, paid a courtesy call to Dr. Lee in Jeong, President of the Union of Asian Alpine Associations (UIAA), and Dr. Joong-Ho Son, President of KAF, culminating in the official MoU signing.
This collaboration entails close cooperation between KAF, its affiliated alpine clubs, and NMA to achieve aforementioned common objectives. Notably, the MoU outlines joint efforts to promote newly open peaks in the Jugal Himalayan Range. A joint expedition will also be conducted to mark the 50th Anniversary of NMA and the enduring friendship between Korea and Nepal.
