The Supreme Court has issued an interim order for an investigation to be conducted against former minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha who has been accused of helping in the release of a landlord who had been accused of racial discrimination.

Supreme Court (SC) has declined to issue interim order on the writ filed against the appointment of Nepal Electricity Authority's (NEA) Executive Director Kulman Ghising. SC refused to issue the interim order on the writ petition filed by Hitendra Dev Shakya. With the court's refusal, it has now paved the way for Ghising to carry on with his responsibility at his office.

A single bench headed by Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana has issued a show-cause notice. However, as per the demand of writ petitioner Shakya, no interim order has been issued to stop Ghising from working as the executive director.
