The Army Residential College Pokhara has won the Gandaki Provincial Science Festival held in Pokhara.
Likewise, Crejan Secondary School came second and Gandaki Boarding School third in the festival. Janajyoti Secondary School Tanahun, Model Residential Secondary School Parbat, Shishu Niketan Secondary School and Kalika Secondary School, Pokhara won consolation prizes. The event was organised by Himalayan Science Foundation in collaboration with the Science Teachers Association of Gandaki Province.
Giving away prize to the winners, Minister for Social Development of Gandaki Sushila Sinkhada expressed her belief that the Science Festival would prove useful in improving quality of education in the province.
At the event, Rajkumar Dhakal was honored with the 'Outstanding Science Teacher Award' for the year 2079. The Science Teachers Society Nepal and the Nepal Intellectual Community presented this award to Dhakal, a science teacher of Gandaki Boarding.
In the festival, 50 science projects developed by students of different schools were exhibited.
