A concrete bridge was washed away by the flood in Chhabdi river in June last year.
Residents of Byas, Bandipur and Rishing villages were affected after the bridge collapsed. The Bailey bridge connecting Bhanu Turture and Palungtar in Gorkha was planned to be placed at the Chhabdikhola confluence after the Marsyangdi River overflowed. Senior Division Engineer at the Infrastructure Development Unit Office, Tanahun, Dinesh Kumar Ghimire informed that the Bailey bridge has been constructed in Chitwan.
Bailey bridge has been brought through the road division with the assistance of Rs. 1.8 million from the federal government. The gabion netting and Bailey bridge have been constructed at a cost of Rs 4.3 million by the Gandaki State Government. Vasant Ale, 13, said that it has become easy to move around with the Bailey bridge connection. The Prithvi Highway is being widened now. Buddhasin Street is being expanded as an alternative road.
