Ballot papers under FPTP election system for two provinces printed

Ballot papers under First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) election system for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly have been almost printed for Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces so far.

HoR and Provincial Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20 this year.

Ballot papers under this system for the HoR election have been completed by 38 per cent while 80 percent for Province Assembly till now, according to Shaligram Sharma Poudel, Spokesperson at the Election Commission of Nepal.

This time, Spokesperson Poudel, shared that the ballot paper under the FPTP system only contains the election system of the candidates whose names were published in the final name list following the registration of the nomination of the candidates.

The EC is printing around 2,500,000 ballot papers in the Janak Education Materials Center Limited at Bhaktapur on a daily basis at present.

So far, a total of 8,999,000 ballot papers have been printed under the FPTP system. Of them 4,715,000 ballot papers are for the HoR election and remaining 4,348,000 papers for the Province Assembly.

The EC has already commenced printing of ballot papers for the HoR and Province Assembly elections under the Proportional Representation system.
