Basic journalism training has started in Kaski

Basic journalism training has been started by Nepal Press Union Kaski. A total of 55 people working in various media have participated in the three-day training conducted with the aim of overall development of the journalism sector.

Inaugurating the training today, Nepali Congress Gandaki Pradesh President Shukra Raj Sharma said that the role of media would be important for the protection of democracy. Stating that the media sector has been playing an important role in the movement for change in the country at different times, he pointed out the need for the protection of democracy and not for the mission of journalism.

Gandaki Minister for Internal Affairs Dowate Bishwakarma informed that the state government was preparing to bring a journalist-friendly law. He expressed his commitment to pass the media bill in the parliament with necessary amendments as per the opinion and suggestions of the journalists.

Central Vice President of the Nepal Press Union Ramesh Poudel said that journalism is always a laboratory and stressed on the need to be studious in timely journalism.

Former Central Vice President of the Nepal Press Union Gangadhar Parajuli, Central Member of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Sarita Timilsina Pangeni, President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Gandaki Narayan Sharma, Kaski President Vimala Bhandari and others pointed out the need for professionalism in journalism.

The training will be conducted by Ramesh Poudel, Gangadhar Parajuli, Rabindra Banstola, Vasudev Poudel, Sarita Timilsina Pangeni, Narayan Sharma, Vimala Bhandari, Raj Bahadur Gurung, Vasu Mishra, Bhanu Parajuli and others.

In the program chaired by Union Kaski President Navin Sigdel, Central Member Tankaraj Adhikari, Vice President Prakash Chandra Sapkota, Advisor Tara Pakhe, Dr. Balram Upadhyay Regmi, District President of Nepal Trade Union Congress Vijay Raj Bhandari and others discussed the importance of training in the development of journalism sector.
