The Beni hospital in Myagdi is soon going to have an endoscopy service. The installation work of the service has reached the final stage.
The equipment is now being installed and the service will begin within a week, said the hospital development committee Chair Bel Bahadur Katwal. It is being established at the cost of Rs 3 million from the Local Infrastructure Development Programme.
The budget was received to the Beni hospital at the initiative of outgoing Member of Parliament Bhupendra Bahadur Thapa through the Dhaulagiri rural municipality. The service is expected to be of great benefit to the people coming for medical treatment at the hospital. Earlier, they had to be referred to other hospitals in Pokhara for endoscopy service.
This will be a newly added service of the hospital and will certainly benefit the patients coming for treatment of various ailments, Katwal said. The hospital has the skilled human resource required to operate the endoscopy machine that is regarded as essential for the diagnosis of various diseases.
