It has been a week now since 17-year-old Bhagarathi Bhatta was murdered after rape in a forest in Baitadi district.
The bereaved family and relatives of the deceased have still been waiting for justice while the investigation into the case has not progressed that much.
Spokesperson at Sudurpaschim Province Police Office, Mukesh Singh informed that police personnel have now collected all the evidence from the incident site. He said, now the police personnel have undertaken inquiry with the people who were connected with Bhatta on social media.
Bhatta, resident of (Katola), Chadepani in Dogdakedar Rural Municipality-7 of Baitadi district was found dead in Lawalek forest on February 4.
The postmortem report issued by the District Hospital, Baitadi said that the XII grader at the local Sanatan Dharma Secondary School, Shreekot was murdered after rape.
The deceased’s uncle Shivaraj Bhatta said that he along with other members of the family was still in the dark about how much the investigation process carried out by police progressed.
The kins of Bhatta have urged authorities to provide justice and impose the death penalty on the murderer(s) who carried out the heinous crime.
Meanwhile, Nepali Congress Central Party Office has chosen its member Ramesh Lekhak to look upon how the authorities have been conducting the investigation into the case. Leader Lekhak told NepalNews that as a representative from the party, he would visit the bereaved family in Sudurpaschim district on Friday.
