KATHMANDU: The government has decided to open the Juvenile Court. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on January 28 decided to bring the Juvenile Court into operation in Bhaktapur district from April 15.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung said the decision was made to establish the Juvenile Court in Bhaktapur district as per the Act Relating to Children with provincial jurisdiction to hear the cases of juvenile benches of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kavre districts.
Likewise, the meeting approved the right to acquire the private land for Sikta Irrigation Project in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, Kohalpur Municipality and Baijanath, Janaki, Duduwa, Raptisonai and Narainapur rural municipalities.
The cabinet meeting also approved the visit of National Planning Commission Vice Chairman Prof Dr Shivaraj Adhikari to attend the Prestigious Annual Meeting of the Prince Mahidol Award Conference.
Gurung shared that the visit of commissioners of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Dr Sumitra Shrestha Amatya and Kishor Kumar Silwal to participate in Governance and Anti-Corruption Erudition Strategy to be held in Asian Institute of Technology from February 25 to March 4.
Likewise, the cabinet meeting has given a preapproval for O&M Survey of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and its line agencies.
Gurung stated that the cabinet meeting approved a concessional loan of 100 million US Dollars from the World Bank to be received under its development policy credit for the green, resilient and inclusive development programme.
The cabinet meeting has given an approval to acquire the private land plots in Dhanding and Nuwakot districts for the construction of towers of 22 kv transmission line.
