Cancer patient provided Rs 1.8m assistance in Baglung

Various social organisations set up by Nepali diaspora in different countries came together to provide monetary assistance of Rs 1.8 million to a cancer patient in Galkot Municipality-4 of Baglung district.

A campaign was launched to raise fund for Durga Subedi, 47, who was unable to get treatment for cancer given her financial constraint.

Galkot Samaj Japan, Galkot Sports Club Japan, Galkot Nuwakot Samaj Japan, Baglung Samaj Japan, Kharuwa Samaj Japan among other organisations contributed in cash for Subedi, informed Niluwa Samaj Chamuwa, Japan’s Chairperson Tham Bahadur Chhetri.

Some Good Samaritan Nepalis abroad have supported Subedi’s cause, according to Chhetri. The amount has already been handed over to Subedi’s family to take forward the treatment process, it was shared.
