One person has died in a motorcycle accident at Sasaha in Dhading district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Arjun Pokharel, 29, of Nilkantha Municipality-7.
Santosh Adhikari of Nilkantha Municipality-4 was seriously injured in the accident. He was sent to Kathmandu Trauma Center in Dhading for treatment, said Jageshwor Bhandari, Information Officer at the District Police Office.
The accident took place when an Eicher heading towards Kathmandu from Dhading Basin hit a motorcycle in Bagmati Pradesh. He died at Dhading Hospital in Pokhrel.
The deceased Pokhrel was a ward member candidate of Neelkanth Municipality-7 carrying the election symbol of CPN (Maoist Center) on behalf of the alliance. The candidate died without the Nilkantha Election Office even starting the counting of votes.
