Chinese central politburo member Yuan calls on Speaker

Visiting Chinese Communist Party (CPC)'s central political bureau member and Chongqing municipality committee secretary, Yuan Jiajun, today called on Speaker Devraj Ghimire.

During the meeting, the two exchanged views focusing on bilateral relations, economic, trade, political and religious exchanges between the two countries, according to the Speaker's Secretariat.

The Speaker expressed gratitude to the top-level political visit from China, prioritizing Nepal. "Since the October 2019 Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Nepal, high level political visits to Nepal are taking place," he said, adding that the bilateral political visits would be helpful in Nepal's development and prosperity.

Stating Nepal is a naturally beautiful country in the world, he said that the number of Chinese tourists visiting Nepal was significant and this had contributed to the enhancement of tourism industry.

Even a tiny cooperation from China will have its contribution to Nepal's endeavors for prosperity, according to the Speaker who apprised the Chinese leader that Nepal achieved a progress in stability and development with the promulgation of the Constitution through the Constituent Assembly.

"The Nepal-China relation is cordial since the history. The ties are connected by mountains, rivers, religion and culture."

On the occasion, the Chinese leader said his visit was commanded by the Chinese President, pledging the China's cooperation to Nepal for its efforts for self-sufficiency on food. He also extended an invitation for China visit to the Speaker.
