Devotees who come to visit Pashupati on Teej will be fined if they take pictures of the original temple premises

Devotees visiting Pashupatinath temple on the occasion of Haritalika (Teez) festival will be fined if they take pictures of the original temple and its premises.

Taking pictures inside the main temple of Pashupatinath is prohibited. Gauri Shankar Parajuli, head of the Pashupati Region Development Fund's Culture Preservation Division, informed Rasas that action is going to be taken with cash fines as the number of taking pictures has increased as everyone has a mobile phone in their hands.

The fund has made this preparation after the trend of taking pictures of places where it is forbidden to take pictures and posting them on social media and creating Tiktok started to increase. A fine of Rs 2,100 will be imposed for taking pictures of the sanctum sanctorum, Rs 1,100 for taking pictures of the main temple and Rs 500 for taking pictures of the main temple premises. He also informed that a group of employees of the fund is going to conduct a micro-monitoring to monitor whether mobile phones have taken pictures in the Pashupatinath original temple area.

The fund will not allow male pilgrims to enter the Pashupatinath temple after six o'clock in the morning on the day of Teej. The fund has also called upon the regular pilgrims of Pashupatinath to return after visiting Pashupatinath before then.
