Chief Minister of Province no 1, Rajendra Kumar Rai, has extended hearty best wishes to all Nepalese, including the Province 1, living within the country and outside on the occasion of Bada Dashain, the major festival of the Nepalese.

In a message of best wishes issued on Sunday, Chief Minister Rai wished for happiness, peace, good health, long life and progress.

"Nepal is a country rich in multitude of ethnicity, languages, religion and culture. Every caste and ethnic community has its own festivals. Dashain is a big festival celebrated by Nepalese with gaiety and fervour. Our every festival has made an important contribution to promoting good will, national unity and common Nepali identity by tying the geographical, religious, cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity in a single tapestry," CM Rai added.

He described our cultural festivals as symbols of mutual tolerance and sentimental unity. CM Rai also stressed on the need of preserving the culture by keeping intact the uniqueness of the festivals while doing away with unnecessary extravagance.

Stating that Nepal has been a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religion and multi-cultural nation since centuries, Chief Minister Rai said this fact has also been accepted by the Constitution. Nepal's diversity is an identity, ornament and asset of Nepal and the Nepalis, he noted.

In the message, CM Rai also urged all the citizens to cast their votes in the House of Representatives and Province Assembly elections slated for coming November 20 and play a crucial role in safeguarding and strengthening the constitution, republic and federalism by using their right to franchise.
