Chief Minister of Karnali Province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has said that federalism will be strengthened only if the path and dreams shown by the martyrs are fulfilled.

On the occasion of 'Province Establishment and Martyr's Day 2079', today he has expressed his heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Karnali residents living in the country and abroad. He emphasized on the need to fulfill the spirit of the movement and the dreams of martyrs to make the federal system strong, sustainable and effective.

In his congratulatory message, he said, "When the federal government did not give the necessary powers to the provinces and kept them with them, the provincial governments have become weak. It cannot strengthen the federal system. Federalism can be strengthened only if the provincial government can be strengthened. Karnali province was established through the movement and the sacrifice of martyrs.”

After Karnali, which had been left behind for decades, was connected with Far West in the federal structure, there was a protest in Karnali from 23rd July to 4th August 2072, demanding a separate province. In memory of Hari Bahadur Kunwar of Jumla, Tikaram Gautam of Surkhet, Yam Bahadur Bisi and Gopalsingh Rajwar, who sacrificed their lives during the agitation for the acquisition of the province, a 'Shaheed Smarak Park' has been established.

Stating that the provincial government has conducted programs including martyrs' memorial allowance and scholarships for their family descendants in the current year, Chief Minister Shahi said that the policy of '6 B' has been brought forward to fulfill the long-term vision of 'prosperous Karnali, happy Karnali residents' for the development and prosperity of Karnali.

On the occasion of the establishment of the province, Karnali Province Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning Vindaman Bista, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Him Bahadur Shahi, Minister of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Chandra Bahadur Shahi, Minister of Water Resources and Energy Development Ganesh Prasad Singh, Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development Padam Bahadur Rokai, Minister of Social Development Yagya Bahadur BC and Industry. , Tourism, Forest and Environment Minister Bir Bahadur Shahi reached Shaheed Park and laid a wreath.
