Congress wins three ward chairpersons of Dhanusha

Deepanarayan Yadav of Nepali Congress has won the Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan constituency-1 by getting 1,143 votes.

His nearest rival Labh Kumar Adhikari of the CPN (UML) polled 541 votes.

Jogi Mahato of the Nepali Congress has won the ward chairmanship of Mithila Municipality Ward No. 1 by getting 735 votes. His nearest rival Laxmi Mahato of the CPN (UML) polled 658 votes.

Similarly, Mithilesh Sah of Nepali Congress has been elected as the ward chairman of ward no. 1 of Dhanusha municipality. Santosh Goit of CPN (Unified Socialist) has been elected as the ward chairman of ward no. 1 of Janakandani village municipality by getting 412 votes.

According to Returning Officer Thulobabu Dahal, Mohan Yadav and Ram Pragas Haluwai of the same party have been elected as ward members, Simla Devi Majhi as a women member and Arhula Devi as a Dalit women member.

Independent candidate maintains lead in Janakpurdham

Independent candidate Manoj Kumar Sah has maintained the lead in the Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan mayoral race.

He is leading with 869 votes while UML candidate Shiva Shankar Sah has got 461 votes.

Another independent candidate Balram Mahato got 244 votes, Manoj Chaudhary of Loktantrik Samajwadi Party got 164 votes and Lal Kishore Sah of Jaspa got 145 votes, said Chief Electoral Officer Brajesh Pyakurel.
