Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale has said that the construction of an international airport at Nijgadh in Bara will not be stopped under any circumstances. Speaking at a press conference organized by the Reports Club in Nijgadh, Bara today, Minister Ale said that work on the international airport to be built in Nijgadh would start soon.
He said, "We will make proper management of the citizens of Tangiya area who are in the area of construction of runway of the airport and will start the work of the airport." He informed through a press conference that the construction work of the airport would be expedited as the construction of the international airport in Nijgadh was being monitored by top leaders of various parties, ministers, and technicians of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
At the same press conference, Minister Ale said that the work of Nijgadh Airport would start before the local level election specified by the government. Responding to a question from a journalist, Minister Ale said, "DPR has been prepared for the construction of Nijgadh International Airport. With the cooperation of all, we will start our work soon."
Similarly, Minister Ale said that the government will start the construction work of Nijgadh International Airport even if it takes money from other areas including Jituji. Minister Ale expressed confidence that the construction work of the airport would start here anyway as the five coalition parties had also agreed for the construction of an international airport in Nijgadh.
As Nijgadh is the second largest international airport after Kathmandu, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Finance Minister Janardan Sharma have said that arrangements will be made for the required budget for the construction, said Minister Ale. The locals have demanded that the relocation work of Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolis-16 should be completed as soon as possible for the construction of Nijgadh International Airport.
