PATAN: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey has said the cultural relations amongst various countries helped enhance cordiality between them.

He said so while addressing the opening ceremony of the Fourth Lalabala Kathmandu International Drama Festival organized by the Bright Future Higher Secondary School here at Satdobato today. Child artistes from eight various countries are participating in the drama festival.

On the occasion, Minister Pandey said the performance of the children's plays from various countries helps learn about each others' cultures. "We can know the art and culture of various countries and introduce ours to others through the plays to be performed during the Festival," he added.

Minister Pandey lauded the initiative, saying providing, by means of the drama festival, comprehensive information on the art, culture, language and civilization of various countries to the students, who are otherwise learning mostly inside the classroom, is an important work in exposing them to other countries' art and culture.

District Coordination Committee chief Rishi Phuyal said the School has promoted Nepal's value and dignity by organizing this international children's drama festival.

The Festival will see the presentation of 19 children's plays by artistes from Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Germany, Estonia, Denmark and Australia over a span of four days, said Ram Raman Humagain, a teacher at Bright Future Higher Secondary School.
