Demand for census in Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulek

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees(UNHCR) has demanded a census in the areas around Kalapani, Limpiyadhura, and Lipulek.

In a statement issued today, UNHCR President Sudesh Parajuli demanded that the areas around Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulek in Mahakali Pari in Darchula district in the Chuchche must be included in the national census.

The statement said, "As the census has to go through India and there are adequate security challenges for it, we strongly urge the government to immediately resolve the issue through bilateral diplomatic talks and send a supervisor to enlist Nepali settlements and Nepali citizens using the Indian route or Nepal's air route." The 12th National Census is being conducted from November 11 to May 13.
