A motorable bridge over Dorkhu river at Tadi Rural Municipality-3 in Nuwakot district has been completed 14 months before the given deadline, a rare case in our construction experience.

The bridge connects the Urleni village and Kharanitar area, one the remotest areas in Nuwakot, in the rural municipality benefitting thousands of locals.

The bridge was constructed in six months of the construction commencement. The Infrastructure Development Office and Jaya Bishnu Construction Service Company had signed a deal on July 14, 2022 to complete the construction works in two years.

Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Shalikram Jammakattel inaugurated the bridge on Thursday amidst a programme.

On the occasion, Jammakattel promised to ensure a sufficient budget for managing the road network in the province.

"Since road infrastructure is a key priority for development, the government has accorded importance for this. The multi-year budget will be ensured to gradually manage the dilapidated road projects," according to the Chief Minister.

Also speaking at the event, Member of Federal Parliament Hit Bahadur Tamang called for concerted efforts of all three layers of governments in such development works.

The bridge is considered vital for ensuring better connectivity in the area and also to supply agricultural productions to the market and facilitate the trek to Gosaikunda religious site along Sagarkunda.

As shared by Chief of Infrastructure Development Office Birendra Bajracharya the total bidding amount of the project is Rs 70 million and the construction company is to receive more than Rs 56 million.
