A bus has met with an accident in Doti this morning. Chief of the Dipayal Area Police Office, Rup Singh Thapa, said that five of the 12 injured in the accident were in critical condition and were being sent out of the district for treatment. An 18-month-old son of Surendra Shahi of Chaurpati Gaonpalika-6 of Achham has gone missing and is being searched for, according to police.
The night bus that had left for Achham from Kailali met with an accident at Gerupani road section of Shikhar Municipality-1 this morning. The other injured are undergoing treatment at Shaileshwari Hospital in Pipalla. Police have a preliminary estimate that the accident may have taken place after the driver of the speeding bus fell asleep. The bus fell into the Seti River 20 meters below the road. The bus driver is absconding, police said.
