The Election Commission has called upon the national media to assist in creating a suitable environment for the upcoming House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly member elections to be held on Mangsir 4.
The Commission has drawn the attention of the relevant parties to transmit truthful news content as the role of mass media is important to make elections clean, free, fearless, fair and frugal.
In a discussion with the editor and head of mass media held by the Commission here today, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapalia expressed his belief that the country's responsible mass media will play a positive role as before.
He informed that the commission has started the work of creating the election agenda, drafting/amendment of guidelines and procedures, calling for political party registration, financial management procedure, budget formulation and updating the voter list.
