The Election Commission has urged the political parties participating in the election to the National Assembly members to strictly adhere to the health safety protocol.

NEC spokesperson Rajkumar Shrestha shared that a request letter was sent to the CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Center, Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Nepal Workers Peasants Party taking part in the by-election scheduled for coming May 20 to adopt high alert to help prevent the pandemic.

The EC has drawn the attention of the participating political parties to pay special attention towards the possible threat to human health while conducting activities such as political gathering, assembly, public meeting, corner meet, publicity, candidature nomination and press conference in the run-up to by-election for National Assembly members in Bagmati province.
