For the seventh national agricultural census, enumerators and supervisors will be deployed in the villages from April 22 to May 30 to collect data in the campaign which is being conducted for the first time after the country has adopted a federal structure.
To assist planners and policy makers in meetings, data is required for local, district and state and national level planning and policy making, monitoring and evaluation for agricultural development, details of land occupied by farmers, planted crops and livestock and environmental impact on agriculture. Similarly, the Central Statistics Department is conducting the national agricultural census in line with the objective of providing necessary data for national level targets and indicators related to agriculture and indicators of sustainable development goals, preparing basis for other surveys related to agriculture and raising the level of overall agricultural statistics. District Statistics Officer Deepak Koirala said that training is being provided to enumerators and supervisors till April 15.
Preparations have been made to deploy enumerators at 227 places in the district of Kavrepalanchowk for the agricultural census to be conducted through sampling method. In that course, the work done by the individual, institutional farming, government, semi-government, cooperative, business and community will be included.
