A fortnightly fair has been organized in Halesi of Khotang on the occasion of Ram Navami. There is a large presence of devotees to worship here.

The fair has been held in Halesi, a meeting place for Hindus, Buddhists, and  Kirants, since a week ago. A significant number of devotees have come to the fair from Nepal as well as neighboring India. According to Samar Bhujel, executive director of the Halesi Development Committee, hotels around the temple are full due to devotees. He said that there is a plan to build a hospice in the coming days.

Nepal Oil Corporation is also constructing a hospice in Halesi, said Evan Rai, Mayor of Halesi Tuvachung Municipality. Most visitors bring their own vehicles. This has caused problems in vehicle management. Halesi falls on the Mid-Hills Highway.

Information Officer of the District Administration Office Vikal Shrestha said that a team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force has been mobilized to organize the fair. There is a belief that visiting Halesi will fulfill one's aspirations. There are various gates such as Mahadev Cave, Basaha Cave, Shiva Parvati Than, Bhairav Cave, Dharmaddhar, Papadwar, and Swargaddhar around the Halesi temple made of rock.

Basaha Cave in Halesi, Khotang, which is considered a model of the world in terms of the natural topography, is just behind the Mahadev Cave. Situated within 50 meters of Basaha Cave in the middle of a dense forest, the view of the sky looks like an incomparable gift of natural beauty.

In Halesi, fairs are held on Ram Navami, Shivaratri, Bala Chaturdashi, Hartalika Teej, Bolbam, and others. Harkapur in Sunkoshi and Jayaram Ghat in Dudhkoshi of the Mid-Hills Highway have been connected to the direct traffic with the Terai.
