Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has argued that the Socialist Front Nepal was established to fight against those working to sabotage and defame the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).
Speaking at a programme organised to announce the Front in the federal capital on Monday, the Prime Minister said that the Front was established to accomplish the remaining task of the peace process.
Appealing to the progressive and change making forces to join the Front, Prime Minister Dahal urged all concerned to move ahead with a new vigour, learning from the past mistakes. "This is the scientific way; a transformative way," the PM said reiterating the greater importance of the Front.
During his remarks, the PM said that there were some mistakes in the formation of the Nepal Communist Party after the unification of the Maoist Centre and CPN (UML) and called for historical review on the failed attempts.
The PM also shared that the Front was declared bearing the bitter experiences of the past in mind and referred to the failed attempts in keeping the unity of the Nepal Communist Party intact. "This is a new mission. A mission to move towards social justice, good-governance and prosperity."
Saying that the regressive force is defaming the progressive leaders and transformation, the PM said that the Front is a force against the regression, anarchy and totalitarianism.
Furthermore, the PM said that the Socialist Force was an outcome of long discussions and process and argued that its relevance is established after its formation.
The Front has forwarded its plans to implement scientific land utilisation policy and industrialization, commercialization and modernization in agriculture through agricultural revolution and improving the livelihood of the working class people.
Likewise, energy, water resources, forest, industry, commerce, tourism and information technology sectors would be developed as the drivers of economic prosperity.
Also speaking at the event, general secretary of Nepal Communist Party Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav' said that the country is going through several crises and people are disappointed and confused but they united with the purpose to free people amid such uncertainties.
He stated that the new experiment is done in Nepal's political history to defeat regression and promote national unity in the country and this shall empower Nepali nationals.
The progressive force will take over the country's leadership and this was possible, general secretary Biplav said.
He claimed that they formed the Front to establish socialism with Nepali characteristics while safeguarding the political achievements made so far.
