Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has stressed the need for corrections in the current education system of the country. The Prime Minister and the Education Minister themselves should act in this regard, he said while inaugurating the first national general convention of the Progressive Nepal National Teachers Association (PNNTA) here today.
Stating that education plays an important role in ending self-centeredness and corruption, he called for providing free education up to Plus Two level and providing skill-oriented and practical education. The incumbent government should accord high priorities to education, said the former Prime Minister.
On the occasion, the PNNTA Chairperson Bhim Bahadur Basnet underscored the need for connecting education with labour and skills. Over 300 representatives from across the country participated in the convention, it has been said. It will choose a new leadership.
